Pest Management Transition Project

Progress Reports

The first project report for PMTP was completed and distributed to the granting agency representatives, including the Washington State Department of Agriculture and project committee members on June 30, 2008 as part of the reporting requirement to recieve continuing funds. The report covered the first nine months of activity by the project which pertained mostly to the transfer of information on the new use of alternatives to organophosphate insecticides in apple production. The report showed that PMTP met or exceeded the benchmarks outlined in the original proposal. Reception by the tree fruit industry to project activities has been excellent thus far. It is anticipated that we will have greater industry participation in the year to come.
