Apple IPM Transition Project

Progress Reports

The original Pest Management Transition Project was funded initially through the Washington State Department of Agriculture in 2008. Later that year, secondary funding to be applied towards additional related goals was acquired through the AgPilots Program and administered by the WSU William D. Ruckelshaus Center. Both agencies required timely updates in the form of written progress reports and a final report. The submitted reports can be download as PDFs from the links to the right. Below are descriptions of the different reports.

2009- 2011 AIPMPT Reports

The 2009-2010 Apple Integrated Pest Management Transition Project was funded through the USDA/WSDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program with new related project funding through 2011. Reports were submitted to WSDA according to their reporting schedule. A PDF version of each report is available for download in the column to the right.

2008-2009 PMTP Reports

The first project report for PMTP was completed and distributed to the granting agency representatives, including the Washington State Department of Agriculture and project committee members on June 30, 2008 as part of the reporting requirement to receive continuing funds. The report covered the first nine months of activity by the project which pertained mostly to the transfer of information on the new use of alternatives to organophosphate insecticides in apple production.

The second progress report was sent out on January 23, 2009. Both reports showed that PMTP met or exceeded the benchmarks outlined in the original proposal. Reception by the tree fruit industry to project activities has been excellent thus far. It is anticipated that we will have greater industry participation in the year to come. The final report dated June 2009 is now available.

This project was partially funded by AgPilots to supplement the needs for the sociological aspects of this project including surveys and other assessment objectives. The results for AgPilots were often combined with the full project reports listed below due to their complementary nature, except when reports were due at significantly different times.
